Legalization of drugs based on marijuana in Ukraine

Last fall, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a row the question of legalizing cannabis. At the same time, about 70 percent of citizens supported this idea.

As a result, the Ukrainian government has legalized the medical use of several marijuana-based drugs.

The Cabinet of Ministers by Resolution No. 324 of April 7 excluded some cannabis-based drugs from the list of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors.

The document states that “state control measures are not established by this decree for the substances of isolated cannabidiol (cannabidiol isolate).”

What drugs are we talking about?

These include dronabinol, nabilone, and nabiximols. It should be noted that the first two are used against nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. A third drug is used to relieve muscle spasms in multiple sclerosis.

In addition, it is worth noting that the circulation of these medicines is allowed only in the form of medicines or in the form of substances intended for the production, manufacture of such medicines, indicated in the document.
